4 Reasons to Purchase Your New Acura at Your Minneapolis, MN Acura Dealer

If you're shopping for a new Acura, you might be wondering whether you should buy from a private seller or if you should go to your dealership. Here are just a few reasons why you'll want to head to your Minneapolis, MN Acura dealer. more 1. Advice You Can Trust Buying a new car is a big deal. Because it's such a big investment, it's important to make sure that you're getting the guidance you need to make the right decision. Unfortunately, it can be hard to get this guidance if you buy from a private seller. When you shop for your Acura from an official dealership, you'll feel comforted knowing that you're getting advice from experts. The staff at a dealership work exclusively with their brand of car, which means they know all the ins and outs of their vehicles and will be able to help you choose the right one for you. 2. Great Quality Cars One risk that you take when you shop for your car from a private seller is unintentionally buying a poor-quality car. Not all cars you find are going to be in good condition. And, even worse, not all private sellers are going to be honest about this. The good news is that if you buy your car at your local dealer, you'll know that you're getting good quality. Dealerships have professional reputations to maintain, and providing their customers with quality vehicles is part of that. 3. Warranties Buying a car from a dealership means knowing that you're getting good quality. But, unfortunately, sometimes the unexpected happens. Sometimes things just go wrong, which is something your local dealer understands. That's why, when you buy your car from your local dealer, they'll provide you with a warranty. Your dealer believes in their products, so if anything goes wrong they'll help you cover it. You're not likely to get this when you buy your car from a private seller. If something goes wrong with your vehicle, you'll be the one responsible for paying for any damages. 4. More Flexible Payments When you buy your car from a private seller, then you might be expected to pay for the full cost of it upfront. Since a car can cost you a decent chunk of money, this might not be ideal for you. It's just another reason why you should be shopping at your local dealership. Instead of having to pay the full amount of the vehicle upfront, you and your dealership can set up a payment plan. If you need to take out a loan for your new vehicle, then your dealer can also help you make sure that you get the best interest rates. While shopping for a car is an exciting experience, buying your car from the wrong place can seriously sour it. If you're shopping for a new car, it's best to go to your local dealer. Are you ready to find your new car? Visit us today at Buerkle Acura.

4 Services You Can Always Find at Your Friendly Minneapolis, MN Acura Dealership

As a car owner, it's important to keep your vehicle in good condition. This can help you enjoy a safe and comfortable ride, as well as reducing the risk of dangerous problems and costly repairs. One of the simplest ways to keep your car in the best possible state is by keeping up with your service schedule, and you can find all of the following auto services at your local Minneapolis, MN Acura dealership. more 1. Oil Change An oil change is one of the most crucial car services to get on a regular basis. In fact, most experts agree that this service should be carried out every six months, on average, and you might need it even more regularly if you drive a lot of miles each year. During an oil change, the dirty old oil in your car's engine is removed, making way for fresh, clean oil to be poured in. This can help to refresh and revitalize your engine, reducing the risk of any serious problems and keeping everything running smoothly. 2. Engine Diagnostic If you've noticed your car's engine causing problems, such as slow starts, random stalls, poor fuel economy, or even the appearance of the dreaded "Check Engine" light on your dashboard, you might want to arrange an engine diagnostic. Engines can be quite complicated, but diagnostics help you figure out exactly what's going on under the hood. During a diagnostic, a mechanic will connect to your car's built-in computer and get a full report on the engine status. They'll then provide you with all the necessary information and let you know if any repairs need to be made. 3. Fluid Checks Fuel isn't the only fluid your car needs to function correctly. It also relies on brake fluid, transmission fluid, coolant, engine oil, and several other essential liquids too. But over time, these fluids can get used up, become contaminated, or leak out due to hard-to-spot holes and unseen damages. During a fluid check, a mechanic will inspect your car's key components and check on the various fluid levels. They'll let you know if any of the fluids have started to leak or degrade, and they'll offer to make any necessary adjustments too. 4. Tire Inspections and Rotations Your car's tires inevitably wear down as you drive around on them. The treads fade away, and the rubber can get pierced or punctured if you accidentally drive over any sharp objects like spikes or nails. But you might not notice those damages until it's too late. This is why it can be a good idea to have your tires inspected regularly. During an inspection, a mechanic will take a close look at each tire and let you know if there are any serious damages or concerns. They can also carry out a tire rotation, which involves switching the tires around into different positions to help them last longer and wear down more evenly. These are just some of the most important services you should be thinking about in order to keep your car in peak condition, and you can find all of them and more at your friendly local dealer. Call Buerkle Acura today to schedule your next auto service.

5 Reasons to Keep Up With Your Acura Service Schedule

Regular maintenance and service are key for the performance of any vehicle. This is why it is so important that you keep up with your Acura service. The best place to do this is at the dealership, with Acura experts who can provide you with the best vehicle care available on the market. more 1. Engine Maintenance Oil changes are instrumental to the performance of your ride. Without it, dirty oil can thicken and cause problems for your engine as it starts to work harder than it should be. This can lead to large-scale problems that will leave you stranded and paying hefty amounts of money. This can all be prevented through regular service. The experts at Acura can perform an oil change in no time, using the type of oil your vehicle needs. This is also important as using the wrong oil can have long-term negative effects on your car. 2. Brake Service The safety of everyone in your vehicle depends on the quality and state of your brakes. Regular brake pads, for example, won't last you as long as the brake pads sold at the dealer. This is very important as prolonged damage to your brake pads can lead to damage to the brake discs, which are important parts of your ride. This is why it is so important that you bring your vehicle to the dealer whenever you hear a high-pitched noise when you brake. Furthermore, these issues can also be identified during regular service, helping you prevent future complications. 3. Tire Support Your tires are the part of your vehicle that is more likely to receive some sort of damage. This is because they are in direct contact with the pavement, which exposes them to many types of items that can perforate them. Furthermore, the regular wear and tear of usage lead to their eventual deterioration. Our Acura experts can check on your tires during the scheduled service and you can make use of our extensive tire center when it's time to get new tires. Also, our technicians can perform tire rotation to help and even out the wear of the tires, making them last longer. 4. Battery Life Batteries have a finite lifetime and they are also essential for the correct functioning of your ride. This is because there are multiple elements in your vehicle that require electricity to work. If you notice your headlights are dimmer or that starting your vehicle is taking longer than usual, it might be time for a battery check. 5. Value Retention Eventually, you will want to sell your vehicle, and making the most of this transaction is always the goal. Through regular maintenance, you can preserve the value of your ride as much as possible and have good opportunities when it's time to sell. From preserving the cost of your vehicle to ensuring it always performs at its best, there are many reasons why you should regularly bring in your ride for service. Visit Buerkle Acura and learn all about our service schedules.

How to Boost Tire Traction This Winter

There are several factors drivers need to consider as the winter driving season approaches. One thing to consider is the amount of traction of your tires. more Your Choice of Tires Choosing the right tires for your vehicle and the weather is critical. Many drivers can use two different types of tires throughout the year. An all-season tire gives you protection year-round. You can combat rain and slick conditions with all-weather tires. A third option if you spend a lot of time in cold, slick conditions is special winter tires. When you are shopping for tires, consider where you live. If you have a steep driveway, consider a tire with extra grip. You can also put sand or kitty litter in your driveway to help navigate especially tricky mornings. Snow Chains You may want to invest in snow chains for your tires if you're in an area that experiences at least one winter storm a year. These chains slide over your tires for traction in less than ideal conditions. Many of the models are lightweight. However, some have some weight and may require two people to install. Ideally, you'll want to install the chains before the worst of the storm hits. You'll want to remove them once the roads are dry to avoid damaging the tires or your vehicle. Tire Socks Along with snow chains, you may want to check into tire socks for your vehicle. These are good for climbing hills or maneuvering in and out of your driveway. The socks are made out of rope. Unlike snow chains, the socks are available in various colors, so you can choose the ones that fit your style. The socks are available from a variety of companies. They can work with cars, trucks, and SUVs. Before you buy your first pair of socks, you'll need to know your tire size. The socks fit the tires to ensure they stay in place and give you the most traction. Typically they arrive as a pair, but you can order two pairs for a four-wheel-drive vehicle. As with the snow chains and a shield, these are a great addition to your winter emergency kit. If you're deciding between socks or chains for your tires, make sure you check local regulations. There are no federal tire chain laws; however, several states have laws to keep drivers safe. Watch Where You Drive Another option for gaining traction in slick or muddy conditions is following the tracks of your fellow drivers. The tracks mean the snow is already packed down and ready to drive on. It's important to know that driving at a safe speed not only improves your traction but your reaction time. The amount of traction is important during the winter as it can help you avoid wrecks and other issues. Make sure you stop by the service center of Buerkle Acura in Brooklyn Park, MN if you have any concerns about your vehicle's tires. Our highly trained staff can assess your tires and rotate or change them if needed.

What to Do After a Car Accident

As a driver, the idea of getting into a car accident is a reality nobody wants to consider.  However, if you are in an auto accident, you should do a few things. more 1. Determine If There Are Any Injuries The most important thing to do after an accident is to determine if anyone is injured. If you have passengers,  make sure you are okay before checking on them. If there are any doubts or complaints, make sure you call 9-1-1. It's always safer to get looked at and find out you're okay than deal with pain. Along the same lines, make sure you seek medical attention if you feel fine at first and then hurt later. If you're involved in a wreck with another driver and uninjured, check on their condition. 2. Contact the Police After figuring out the injury situation,  the next step is to call the police. Depending on how many were involved, you may be a second caller. Don't worry, the more information the dispatcher receives, the better.  The accident may also get reported by someone who saw it happen. As you wait for the cops, gather your license, registration, and insurance cards. If you can move your vehicle from the driving lanes, go ahead and do so. If you don't feel well or the vehicle isn't drivable, don't force it. Once the police arrive, answer their questions honestly. Let them know if you are feeling sick or sore so that they can get you the proper attention. You can also ask the police for a copy of their report. They may give you the report or the contact information for your insurance to get the report later. 3. Exchange Insurance Information The exchange of insurance information can occur before or after the police arrive. This is an important step as you need to report the other driver's information to your insurance. 4. Contact Your Insurance Company Once you have spoken with any other parties involved and the cops, it's time to call your insurance.  It's important to stay calm during this call. The people you speak with won't rush you. They understand you have been through trauma. They're going to ask you for information on the wreck, any injuries, the weather, and the condition of your vehicle. If you can gather pictures at the wreck, now is the time to turn those over so your insurance can perform its own investigation. 6. Get Your Vehicle Looked At After you have dealt with the insurance, it's time to deal with your vehicle. If you can drive it, you may want to have a mechanic check it over. You can use someone that works with your insurance or your own mechanic. Make sure you get a written report after they finish the post-wreck inspection. If you determine your vehicle needs to be replaced after your accident, visit your local Buerkle Acura dealership. Our staff will gladly answer any questions you have. We can also let you test drive your new vehicle before you drive it home.

How_Often_Should_You_Get_Your_Acura_Oil_Change_637600220774792454

How Often Should You Get Your Acura Oil Change?

You need an Acura oil change every 5,000 miles. The average American drives around 15,000 times per year, so this every 5,000 miles rule boils down to an oil change at least three times per year. There are factors that can sway the frequency of your oil change, though, and sometimes you need a change sooner than expected. more 4 Factors That Impact How Often You Need an Acura Oil Change 1. Your Driving Circumstances What do you do while driving? Do you tow, or do you go off-roading often? Do you live in an area dominated by steep hills? All of these things are stressful for your vehicle, so you'll need an oil change more often. Talk to your technician, as the technician will be able to provide personalized advice based on your driving habits and circumstances. 2. Your Vehicle's Age If you have an older Acura, then you'll need an oil change more frequently. Your manual will have guidelines that are specific to your Acura, so be sure to check that out. You can also ask your technician for advice. 3. Your Vehicle's Model Your manual also has advice that's specific to your vehicle's model, so check that out. Every vehicle model is different, so you might need an oil change more or less often than most Acura models. 4. How Little You Drive Although the average person will need an oil change three times a year or more, you'll need an oil change slightly less frequently if you don't drive often. This might sound self-explanatory, but hear us out—infrequent drivers still need an oil change every 6 months. You may not reach 5,000 in six months, but you should get an oil change anyway. Oil gets old and deteriorates, so your oil won't be in the best condition after six months. If you try to drive with old oil in your vehicle, then you're going to experience the issues that we'll discuss next. 3 Signs That You Need To Change Your Oil Now 1. Dark Exhaust Fumes If your exhaust fumes are dark, then you most likely need an oil change. Dark exhaust fumes can also indicate a cracked gasket, so it's worth getting your overall vehicle checked out. 2. Loud Engine Oil lubricates your engine, but when it's thin or gritty, then it can't lubricate the engine's parts correctly. Unlubricated parts get louder, and they grind together, too. Your engine's parts grinding together can cause damage to the engine, so please get your oil changed regularly. 3. You Have a Leak If you spring an oil leak, then you know that our vehicle needs an immediate repair and oil change. You'll notice a leak if your vehicle's oil level is rapidly dropping. You might also notice that there's a pool of oil near your vehicle. Don't delay. Go and get an oil change as soon as possible. Come to Buerkle Acura to get your oil change. We'll make sure to provide you with our best services, and we'll perform any additional maintenance that you need. Let us know what you need by calling our service department at 1-763-424-4545.

Employee Spotlight - Meet our Service Advisor, Dana Robison

Employee Spotlight - Meet our Service Advisor, Dana Robison Dana had been our service advisor since early 2019, but that’s not the only department here at Buerkle that’s been fortunate enough to work with her. Almost five years ago, Dana started out as our cashier. She has always been someone who management took note of, because of her go-getter attitude. Once she learned all there was to know with cashiering, she took on accounting work, accounts receivable, titling, and other duties that weren’t necessarily in her job description. Since the cashier position works closely with the service staff, our service manager, Terry, recognized a true talent in Dana and approached her to join his team as a service advisor. She started with light duty maintenance work, and now her position has morphed into a newly created role as an internal service advisor. This new role is essential in overseeing all of Buerkle’s inventory and sold vehicles, which includes everything from the first inspection to after the vehicle is delivered. So what does Dana do when she’s not working? “Well....I work!” She answered, somewhat laughing. Dana is also a caretaker with her apartment complex, so when she gets home, she usually has an apartment to clean, snow to shovel, and other issues that can arise with her tenants (including having to evacuate everyone from the apartment building twice in one weekend due to fire alarms going off!). “So what do you do when you’re not caretaking and not at Buerkle Acura? Is there any ‘Dana’ time thrown in there?” “Terry always asks me that,” she said, grinning. When Dana does have a few moments to herself, she likes to have her nephew over, take him swimming in her pool, and hang out with her friends. I’m sure many in the service bay recognize her from her time in the cashier position, so please say “hi” next time you’re in!

Are You Taking Care of Your Vehicle?

Are You Taking Care of Your Vehicle? Schedule a Service Visit Your vehicle is your reward for working long days and getting things done. Be a part of keeping its gorgeous exterior and powerful performance lasting longer by staying mindful of these car care tips. 1. Pay Attention to Manufacturer Recommendations We hear it all the time. But how often do we take it seriously? Service intervals, proper fueling, and even your windshield wipers all come with factory recommendations for optimal performance. So, if you want your machine to be in it for the long run, make sure it’s able to run long. 2. Use Proper Cleaning Products You love your premium paint job and custom leather seats and want to keep them looking brand new as long as possible. Using the proper cleaning products is the best way to do that. For example, using a high-quality carpet cleaner for your car’s floors will get those stains out and keep the carpet looking (and smelling) fresh. For seat stains and wear, use a dedicated leather cleaning solution and microfiber cloth for maximum impact. Wash the exterior often to keep it looking sleek throughout its lifetime. 3. Keep Your Tires On Point You drive on them all day. They keep your car moving smoothly and you from sliding all over the road in less than optimum conditions. Checking the air pressure and keeping your eye on tread shrinkage (it’s recommended to replace them around 1.5mm of tread or less) will keep your drives smooth and safe. 4. Don’t Underestimate the Power of Your Wipers Plan ahead for bad weather by keeping your wipers updated. The better the wipers, the better the visibility when you really need them. Nobody likes that streaky mess or grating sound across the windshield when the wipers are worn—especially when it inhibits your sight line and causes less than ideal driving situations. By keeping up with these few easy-to-do tips, you’ll get the most bang for your hard-earned buck and keep your vehicle looking new and lasting longer.
