Minneapolis, MN is home to more than 150 restaurants that serve brunch meals, but three of them rise above the rest due to extensive menus, flavorful meals, and tasty treats. Keep reading to discover the best brunch places in the city and plan your next meal.

1. Chimborazo

Chimborazo is owned by an Ecuadorian immigrant and specializes in serving up the traditional cuisine of Ecuador and the Andean Highlands. Meat eaters can savor the signature Chimborazo Breakfast Hash topped with pork ribs, while vegetarians will enjoy the Ecuatoriano Vegetariano with llapingachos, eggs, and avocado. We also love the Llapingachos Breakfast featuring cheese-filled potato pancakes, peanut sauce, and your choice of meat such as flank steak.

Eggs are a brunch staple, and Chimborazo has perfected them in the Ecuatoriano Scramble with queso fresco as well as the Tortilla de Puerco with roast pork, breakfast potatoes, and sweet plantains. Other classic entrees include the Media Noche Sandwich with aji criollo on a bolillo roll and the Humitas served in a corn husk. Add on an order of toast with guava jam or an Empanada Con Queso dusted with powdered sugar to complete the meal.

2. Spoon and Stable

Spoon and Stable combines flavors of France and classic Midwest meals inside of a historic building dating back to 1906. Pastries are a necessary addition to any good brunch, and we particularly recommend the Cinnamon Pecan Pull-Apart, the Almond Croissant Bread Pudding, and the Goat Cheese & Beet Danish. Customers with a sweet tooth should order either the Sorghum Waffle with vanilla cream or the Short Stack of buckwheat pancakes with foie gras mousse.

Go with a freshly prepared salad such as the Green Salad made from winter radishes and sherry vinaigrette or the Snap Pea Salad featuring sunflower seeds and crispy pheasant egg for a lighter meal. The Biscuits and Gravy topped with mushroom gravy and the Croque Madame with a sunny-side-up egg and sauce mornay are among our favorite entrees; alternatively, if you want a meal that’s more similar to lunch, try the Mafalde Pasta covered in pecorino cheese.

3. Keys Cafe & Bakery

Keys Cafe & Bakery is a Minnesota staple that creates all baked goods, breakfasts, and lunches from scratch. Head over to the pastry case for treats such as the Caramel Pecan Bread Pudding to pair with your espresso beverage. Upgrade to homemade bread, ask for real maple syrup, and add granola, strawberries, apples, pecans, walnuts, blueberries, bananas, raspberries, or chocolate chips to take your French Toast to the next level.

Omelet lovers are guaranteed to appreciate the Keys’ Everything Omelet made from three eggs, Italian sausage, ham, bacon, mushroom, cauliflower, American cheese, and more. Hash meals range from the Roast Beef with celery and onion to the house-made Corned Beef with American fries. Our other suggestions include the Cajun Breakfast with Andouille sausage and the Huevos Rancheros served with homemade salsa, green onions, and retired beans.
