If you're looking for a luxury compact crossover SUV with almost any desirable feature, consider the 2021 Acura RDX. The Acura?RDX is an attractive and dependable vehicle with an impressive road presence that complements an extensive list of standard safety features, a roomy cabin, and athletic handling. After undergoing a complete redesign for the 2019 model year, the RDX is now in its third year and has evolved into an SUV that offers excellent?value for the money.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The 2021 Acura?RDX only comes in one trim, the base trim, but it offers three upgraded packages: Technology, A-Spec, and Advance. The SUV comes standard with 19-inch alloy wheels and a five-point grille framed by LED headlights. Opting for the A-Spec package adds 20-inch wheels.
Engine (Power)
Unlike other luxury SUVs that offer different engine options, every 2021 Acura RDX comes with the same engine type. Don't let this single-engine option deter you;?the engine provides plenty of power. The turbocharged inline-four engine pumps out 272 horsepower and pairs with a 10-speed automatic transmission. The vehicle also comes standard with front-wheel drive, but you can opt for the Super Handling All-Wheel Drive system.
Performance
For fuel economy, the 2021 Acura RDX attains average numbers compared to other vehicles in its class. Expect to get an EPA-estimated 22 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway with the base engine. Choosing all-wheel drive drops the numbers slightly to 21 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway.
Interior
The 2021 Acura RDX seats five people comfortably across two rows of seats. Its refined interior presents sportier features compared to other vehicles in its class, mainly because it shares design elements found on the Acura NSX, a luxury sports car.? All seats inside the RDX remain supportive, with ample legroom throughout the cabin. Front-seat travelers enjoy power-adjustable sport seats, which allow them to find a position that is the most comfortable for them. The Acura RDX has Acura's new True Touchpad interface, which includes a 10.2-inch touch-screen display for entertainment. This intuitive touch screen is responsive and includes access to Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Siri Eyes Free. The vehicle also comes standard with a satellite and HD radio, Wi-Fi hot spot, and two USB ports. You also gain access to AcuraLink, which lets you connect to the vehicle via your smartphone.
Safety Features
The 2021 Acura RDX has two complete sets of LATCH connectors found on the rear outboard seats and a tether anchor for the rear middle one to keep little ones safe.?Otherwise, the SUV comes standard with many safety features, including adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, road departure mitigation, and automatic high-beam assist.?
